Camilla Rantanen

Camilla Rantanen is a Finnish dramaturg, playwright, scriptwriter, and performance maker. Since graduating from the Theatre Academy of the Arts University Helsinki in 2021, Rantanen has worked with wide variety of media, especially in the realms of stage and audio.

One of her noteworthy works is the co-authored radio drama "Stripparit virantoimituksessa" (Strippers on Duty) with the Slutartists collective. This collaboration earned recognition and represented Finland in the Radio Fiction category at the 2021 Prix Europa.

Rantanen's works have been showcased at various platforms in Finland, including the Finnish National Theatre, Finnish National Gallery Kiasma and Finnish National Broadcasting Company. Beyond her artistic endeavors, Rantanen has organized workshops based on her practice. She is also a board member of Finnish playwrights’ association “Teksti”.

Rantanen's art is characterized by the use of dramatic elements within abstract compositions, as well as playful experimentation with the edges of text and the integration of media art influences. She is endlessly fascinated by contexts, transparency, essayistic writing and extensive background research.
